John's Tips for March/April

Plant early potatoes and shallots. Finish off pruning Roses and feed ,  lift and divide Snowdrops while still in leaf. Prune  autumn flowering Clematis. Trim winter flowering heathers. Trim back Cornus and Salix  to encourage new growth., Mulch Raspberry canes  Plant bare rooted fruit and trees. Lay new turf when frost has gone.  Prepare ground for seeding new lawns, Cut  grass with the mower set at its highest setting. Sow seeds of beetroot, leek, lettuce and cabbage in  heated greenhouse. Sow  annuals in a heated propagator, Start Dahlia tubers.
